JMG, JAMARA HOME BOOST WORKPLACE CULTURE WITH EASTER STAFF SPORTS FESTIVAL

JMG Limited and Jamara Home have strengthened workplace engagement through a staff sporting festival held to mark the Easter season.

The initiative, organised in collaboration with the National Union of Electricity Employees and the Steel and Engineering Workers' Union of Nigeria, brought employees together in a series of recreational and team-building activities.

The maiden edition of the event featured games such as football, chess and board contests, creating a platform for employees across departments to interact beyond formal work settings.

Participants were grouped into four teams, fostering friendly competition and collaboration, as staff engaged in activities designed to promote unity and strengthen interpersonal relationships.

Employees described the event as refreshing, noting that it provided an opportunity to step away from routine tasks and reconnect with colleagues in a relaxed environment.

Chief Commercial Officer, Rabi Jammal, said the festival was aimed at deepening connections within the organisation.

“This is more than a competition. It is about shared energy, connection and the spirit employees brought to the event. These moments help strengthen our teams and the organisation as a whole,” he said.

Also speaking, Chief Human Resources Officer, Gloria Ibeziako, emphasised the importance of employee engagement initiatives.

“Strong organisations are built on strong relationships. Events like this reinforce teamwork, boost morale and highlight the value of our people,” she said.

Industry observers note that such initiatives are increasingly being adopted by corporate organisations seeking to improve productivity, enhance employee wellbeing and build inclusive workplace cultures.

They added that structured engagement activities can help drive collaboration and improve overall organisational performance.

JMG Limited, known for its operations in power generation, electrical infrastructure and renewable energy, alongside Jamara Home’s consumer electronics offerings, said the success of the festival reflects a shared commitment to people-centred growth.

The companies reiterated their intention to continue promoting initiatives that foster collaboration, wellbeing and a sense of belonging among employees.

Stakeholders say as organisations adapt to evolving workplace expectations, investments in employee experience will remain critical to sustaining performance and long-term growth.
