STERLING BANK CHAMPIONS AFRICA’S GREEN REVOLUTION WITH ASA 2025

...Summit to drive sustainable growth, financing, and food security across the continent

Sterling Bank is spearheading Africa’s green revolution with the 2025 edition of the Agriculture Summit Africa (ASA), themed “Survival of the Greenest: Reclaiming Africa’s Food Destiny.” The two-day event, slated for November 6–7 at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja, will unite policymakers, agribusiness leaders, investors, and innovators to chart a new course for Africa’s agricultural sustainability.

Now in its eighth year, ASA—convened by Sterling Bank—remains the continent’s leading platform for driving inclusive and sustainable agricultural transformation.

Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank, Mr. Abubakar Suleiman, said the Bank’s goal is to reclaim Africa’s food destiny through deliberate, collective action.

“At Sterling, we believe Africa’s food future will be secured not by chance but by collective effort,” he stated. “Agriculture remains central to Africa’s social, economic, and environmental transformation.”

According to Olushola Obikanye, Group Head, Agric Finance and Solid Minerals at Sterling Bank, the theme reflects the urgency of climate-smart innovation. “ASA 2025 will empower farmers, attract investors, and strengthen value chains,” he added.

The summit, co-convened by Sunbeth Global Concepts, will also feature Mastercard-led discussions on digital tools for agritech and inclusive finance. Strategic partners include IFC, The Alternative Bank, Arzikin Noma, ONE Foundation, Noor Takaful, and Bühler.

Delegates from over 30 African countries are expected to participate in high-level panels, policy dialogues, exhibitions, and an Investment Deal Room that will connect investors with viable agribusiness ventures.
