Alhaja Queen Isimot Abake Abiola, fondly called Omo-Opeki, has added another honour to her illustrious career as she was celebrated at the 6th Oodua Special Recognition Awards (OSRA) held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Ojaja Arena Resort, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The prestigious ceremony, which celebrates distinguished Yoruba personalities for their excellence, impact, and service, had the Ooni of Ife personally presenting awards to deserving recipients.

Queen Isimot, the CEO of SUWAT Music & Film Nig. Ltd. and President of the Elite Women Musicians Lagos Club, was recognised for her outstanding contributions to music promotion, cultural preservation, and women’s empowerment within Nigeria’s entertainment landscape.

Though currently abroad, Alhaja Queen Isimot Abake Abiola expressed heartfelt gratitude for the honour and dedicated the award to members of her association and her club.

Representing her at the event were top executives of the Fuji Musicians Association of Nigeria (FUMAN), Lagos Chapter — including Mayor Omotunde Damendra (Governor, FUMAN Lagos), Amb. Lateef Idowu Alagbada (Secretary), Laredo Dudu Ebony (Chairman, Ikorodu West), Kamoru Akanbi Gboge (PRO), and Sulaimon Ebunlorin, Manager of SUWAT Music & Films Nigeria Limited — who received the plaque and certificate on her behalf.

The Oodua Special Recognition Awards, now in its sixth edition, continues to honour individuals who promote Yoruba culture, leadership, and excellence through their work and influence.

This latest recognition adds to Queen Isimot’s impressive list of accolades in 2025, including the Award of Excellence and the title of “Paramount Queen of Music” bestowed on her during the Music Advertisement Association of Nigeria (MAAN) 35th Anniversary in Lagos earlier in the year.

Under her visionary leadership, the Elite Women Musician Association of Nigeria has become a powerful platform uniting female musicians from genres such as Fuji, Juju, Gospel, and Hip-hop, fostering collaboration and empowerment.

Receiving this honour at the cradle of Yoruba civilisation, Ile-Ife, stands as both a symbolic and cultural validation of her dedication to heritage and progress.

With multiple industry recognitions and an enduring passion for elevating women in music, Alhaja Queen Isimot Abake Abiola (Omo-Opeki) continues to shine as a cultural ambassador and one of Nigeria’s most respected voices for women in the creative arts.
