METRO: HOW RETIRED FEDERAL CONTROLLER OF WORKS, ABDULRAZAQ AJANI TRAGICALLY PASSES AWAY IN KWARA

A retired Controller of Works from the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, AbdulRazaq Ajani, tragically lost his life on New Year's Day in Ilorin, Kwara State. The unfortunate incident occurred shortly after he returned home from Offa, where he had spent the Christmas holidays with his family.

Reports indicate that Mr. Ajani was approached at his residence on Dele Gege Street, Aderoju area, off Awolowo Road, in Tanke, Ilorin, around 3 p.m. by unknown individuals. Family members recounted that the individuals entered the compound shortly after Mr. Ajani arrived home with his immediate family.


According to a relative who requested anonymity, four young men were seen in the area. “CCTV footage captured two of them standing near the gate while the other two entered the compound,” the source said.

Mr. Ajani, noticing the visitors from one of the sitting rooms on the ground floor, reportedly rose to engage them. However, a struggle ensued, leading to a tragic turn of events.

Family members raised an alarm, attracting the attention of neighbors. Unfortunately, the individuals left the scene before help could arrive.

Further reports revealed that the main gate’s CCTV cameras had been removed prior to the day, but footage from an indoor camera captured parts of the incident.

The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the incident. The spokesperson, Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, stated that investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances and bring those involved to justice.
