WHEN EVELYN JOSHUA ELEVATES "THE POOREST OF THE POOR" IN ARGENTINA

BALASTRO II, FONTANA in Resistencia, CHACO Province of Argentina, is a lesson in the tragedy of existence. The high level of poverty is terrifying! Life here mirrors Thomas Hobbes’ horrific classification: "Brutish, nasty, and short." This place, described as the "poorest of the poor" in Argentina, is neglected and forsaken, with over one million children surviving on one malnourished meal a day, devoid of hope, happiness, or a future.

There is no food, water, roads, or electricity. All the basic necessities of life are absent—except for a football field. The suffocating destitution in the community is overwhelming. It takes grace to survive each day.

These are the people that Pastor Evelyn Joshua and the Emmanuel TV Partners of the Synagogue Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) have come to uplift.

In trying times, true friends are revealed, and Pastor Evelyn Joshua has shown that the greatest gift one can give is time, attention, love, and unshakable faith. By providing the community with basic necessities, she has helped them live as true human beings.

Over 500 families living in extreme poverty and inhuman conditions benefited from a trailer load of food items, clothing, domestic and educational supplies, worth over 20 million Argentine Pesos. Additionally, cash gifts amounting to 1.5 million Pesos were given to these "wretched of the earth." The community was electrified with joy. The enthusiasm was palpable—it felt like a miracle, a manna from heaven. What was even more miraculous to them was seeing these life-transforming goods brought not by their white counterparts but by a black team of Christians from Nigeria!

Fontana is a deeply backward society, where witchcraft, worshipping the dead, and various occultic practices are rampant. The community also faces issues like drug addiction among the youth and other social afflictions. Yet, with joy, dancing, and singing, the football field was painted red as the community expressed their gratitude in their traditional way, celebrating uncontrollably.

“We have brought to you the gospel of love from our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. You must completely surrender your life to Jesus Christ for your joy to be full and for lasting happiness,” Pastor Joshua declared, as the excited villagers thronged around her, reminiscent of Paul and Barnabas at Lystra.

“We are one with you. The seed of love planted in us by Jesus Christ will remain alive. Your challenges are our challenges, and your joy is our joy. To you mothers, my sisters—life is full of challenges. Accept Jesus and raise your children in the way of the Lord so that you can experience joy. Ensure they have a sound education and upbringing. This place has become our second home. Let the word of God grow in you, and walk in His light so that we can continue to rejoice together in Christ Jesus,” Pastor Joshua further admonished, inspiring jubilant celebrations.

Aduana Solidod Gornama, a 37-year-old homeless mother of five, was overjoyed to see the gifts. “This is a miracle. May God continue to bless the woman of God. This will go a long way in saving us from untimely death and hopelessness,” she said.

Viviome Piluen Colrol, a jobless housewife living in a ghetto-like apartment with her children and husband, expressed her gratitude: “Today is the happiest day of my life. This help came when all hope was gone. May God continue to be with the woman of God and SCOAN.”

Jorge Aditouio Movoz, a community leader living from hand to mouth, shared his thoughts: “Words cannot express our joy. We are overwhelmed by the gifts from Pastor Evelyn Joshua and her team from Nigeria. Thank you for your love and kindness in our abject poverty. May God continue to bless you and your church.”

Indeed, the mills of God grind slowly but exceedingly fine. This outreach follows the legacy laid by God's General, Prophet TB Joshua. “By the grace of God, we have put our hands on the plow, and we will not look back. We are committed to changing lives, changing nations, and changing the world for the salvation of souls and a better humanity as the Lord directs us,” said Evelyn Joshua.

This is undoubtedly a move of God. A white pastor in the crowd, overwhelmed by the generosity, quietly said, “God is awesome! We used to pray for the black people, but now the black people are praying for us. Glory be to His holy name.”

Without a doubt, there will be a better world and better humanity if love is allowed to lead in human affairs, as demonstrated by SCOAN. Greater things are yet to come!
