The Akure Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture will hold its 2026 Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, with business growth, trade expansion and export opportunities expected to take centre stage.
The AGM will commence at 8:30am at the AKCCIMA Secretariat, behind the NNPC Mega Station and AutoMart along the Ilesha-Owo Expressway, Akure, while the programme will be open to the general public from 12 noon.
The meeting is themed “Unlocking Growth, Trade & Export for a Competitive Future,” reflecting the chamber’s focus on strengthening businesses, expanding trade opportunities and helping enterprises explore new markets.
Speaking ahead of the AGM, the outgoing President of AKCCIMA and former National Deputy President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, Mrs Funmilayo Ade-Ojo, said the meeting would provide an opportunity for members of the business community to assess the chamber’s progress, strengthen collaboration and explore new opportunities for growth, trade and export.
Ade-Ojo said the gathering would also provide a platform for members to engage one another, exchange ideas and identify areas where stronger collaboration could contribute to business development across Ondo State.
A major feature of the programme will be a lecture on export, aimed at exposing participants to practical opportunities and knowledge required to take their businesses beyond the Nigerian market.
The export focus is particularly significant for small and medium-scale enterprises seeking to expand their customer base, improve competitiveness and participate more actively in international trade.
The AGM will also feature discussions on business growth strategies and funding opportunities for nano entrepreneurs. The sessions are expected to provide insights into practical ways businesses can overcome challenges and build sustainable enterprises.
Networking will form another important part of the programme, giving entrepreneurs, business owners and industry stakeholders an opportunity to connect, share experiences and explore possible areas of collaboration.
Beyond the business discussions, AKCCIMA will recognise outstanding members through awards, while goodwill messages will also form part of the programme.
The chamber has urged its members to participate actively in its activities, stressing that fulfilling their obligations is part of strengthening the organisation and supporting the wider business community.
The call is reinforced by its message, “Your Obligation, Your Pride,” encouraging members to pay their dues and take an active role in the affairs of the chamber.
The 2026 AGM is being held under the broader objective of “Building Businesses, Creating Opportunities and Driving Prosperity.”
For the Ondo business community, the event presents an opportunity to assess progress, strengthen business networks and explore practical pathways for enterprises to become more competitive locally and internationally.
With the programme opening to the public from noon, the AGM is expected to attract entrepreneurs, business leaders and other stakeholders interested in the future of trade, investment and enterprise development in Ondo State.
As AKCCIMA puts it, “When we gather, we grow.” The August 25 meeting is expected to provide a platform for members and stakeholders to turn that message into action.
