53 students graduated from the Crest Media Academy Akure, the ondo state capital on Friday 24th March 2023.
The convocation event which took place at the Felicia hall of Crest Fm, Akure was a combined convocation for Batch B and C of the Crest Media Academy students.
The guest speaker and Professor of Literature, Adekunle Ajasin University, Prof. Busuyi Mekusi in his lecture themed "Nigerian Media as Machete in a mad man's possession", said although the media is very important to the development of an economy, it could also be a dangerous medium when used wrongly.
He advised media practitioners to act as advocators for the nation, through the dissemination of timely and verified information, free of any incentives or entanglement.
On his part, The Chairman, Crest Media Group, Prince. Ade Adekanbi congratulated the graduating students and assured them of Crest FM's keenness to better restructure the Academy for optimal success.
Prince Adekanbi also pushed for the adoption of proper media ethics within the industry, adding that this would promote originality and ensure posterity within the media.
Some of the graduands who spoke with Crest FM commended the academy for its effort in impacting them with the media skills needed to succeed in the industry.
Highlights of the event, include the presentation of certificates to the graduands, and choreography by Press Club students of Bishop Hughes Memorial Nursery and Primary School Oke-ijebu Akure among others.
