As Mr. Damola Aiyeola turns 60, the National President of the Remo Secondary School Old Students Association (RSSOSA), Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, has described the milestone as an opportunity to celebrate a life defined by faith, family, leadership and service.
Aiyeola, who serves as the National Vice President of the RSSOSA UK Branch, has been recognised for his contributions to the association and his efforts to improve the welfare of students at Remo Secondary School.
In a birthday message, Emmanuelking described Aiyeola as a God-fearing family man and a committed old student who has continued to give back to the school and contribute to the growth of RSSOSA.
According to him, Aiyeola's contribution to the association goes beyond occupying a leadership position, as he has used his role to support initiatives aimed at improving the learning environment and welfare of current students.
One of the areas highlighted was the work of the RSSOSA UK Branch, including the renovation of classrooms adopted by the branch at Remo Secondary School.
The branch has also supported outstanding students with learning materials across the Senior and Junior sections of the school, while providing funding for holiday tutorials for SS3 students.
The tutorial programme has further been supported with textbooks and sanitary pads for students, combining academic assistance with attention to their personal welfare.
Emmanuelking said the initiatives reflected the broader responsibility of old students to contribute to the institution that played a role in shaping their lives.
He noted that Aiyeola's leadership had helped turn the UK Branch's commitment to the school into practical interventions capable of making a difference in the lives of students.
For the RSSOSA President, the significance of Aiyeola's 60th birthday therefore extends beyond the celebration of age. It is also a moment to acknowledge years of service and the impact of an alumnus who has remained connected to the development of his alma mater.
Emmanuelking praised Aiyeola for what he described as a strong sense of responsibility towards RSSOSA and Remo Secondary School, saying his example demonstrated the value of alumni involvement in supporting education and student development.
As Aiyeola begins his seventh decade, the RSSOSA President prayed for continued good health, wisdom, strength and protection, while asking God to bless his family and reward his commitment to service.
He also expressed hope that the years ahead would provide Aiyeola with greater opportunities to contribute to RSSOSA, its UK Branch and the continued development of Remo Secondary School.
For an old student whose involvement has increasingly moved from remembrance to active contribution, the 60th birthday offers a fitting moment to reflect on the difference that alumni service can make long after the classroom years are over.
Happy 60th birthday to Damola Aiyeola.
