Oxygen X, a leading digital lending company committed to empowering people and businesses, has extended its impact beyond financial solutions by spearheading an environmental sustainability drive in Lagos.
In partnership with the JOMO Climate Change Initiative, the Oxygen X team led a market cleanup and advocacy campaign at Ketu Market, Lagos, on September 3, 2025. The exercise, fully sponsored by Oxygen X, engaged community stakeholders including the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) and the Ketu Market Leader (Baba Oloja).
The initiative directly impacted more than 7,000 people through hands-on cleanup efforts, sensitisation, and advocacy sessions. Traders and residents were encouraged to adopt proper waste management practices and embrace sustainable lifestyles that foster a cleaner, healthier environment.
“At Oxygen X, we believe that real change starts with action,” said Dan Watts, Chief Risk Officer, Oxygen X. “This initiative reflects not just our Corporate Social Responsibility but also our values as a business that thrives on purpose. We are investing in a healthier planet because we understand that sustainability is central to building thriving communities.”
The Ketu Market cleanup underscores Oxygen X’s long-term investment in sustainability and environmental responsibility, reinforcing its commitment to powering people and businesses to thrive beyond financial empowerment, while driving positive community development.
