Fidelity Bank Plc has launched the Fidelity SME Empowerment Program 2025, a transformative initiative aimed at equipping 100 growth-ready Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with integrated business management systems to enhance productivity, operational efficiency, and long-term sustainability.
The event, held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at the bank’s dedicated SME Hub in Gbagada, Lagos, drew a large turnout of entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and stakeholders. It marked the official rollout of a digital empowerment scheme that provides selected SMEs with ERPRev-enabled POS systems and comprehensive business support tools—completely free of charge.
Welcoming attendees, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director/CEO of Fidelity Bank Plc, represented by Mr. Stanley Amuchie, Executive Director/Chief Operations and Information Officer, reiterated the bank’s strong commitment to SME growth and digital transformation.
“At Fidelity Bank, we believe SMEs are not just the backbone of our economy—they are the architects of innovation, resilience, and inclusive growth,” said Amuchie. “Through the Fidelity SME Empowerment Program, we are giving entrepreneurs the tools, training, and support they need to thrive in today’s digital economy.”
Each beneficiary will receive:
- A fully installed POS desktop system
- Access to ERPRev business software
- Receipt printer and barcode scanner
- Inventory and financial data input support
- Branding and onboarding assistance
- Bookkeeping and financial literacy training
- Free Fidelity POS with instant settlement
- Six-month post-installation business monitoring
The three-day event also features masterclasses, business trainings, and networking opportunities focused on innovation, digital adoption, and market expansion.
Speaking on the program’s broader impact, Mrs. Adaonah Kene-Uyawune, CEO of Manmark, Fidelity’s strategic partner for the rollout, described the initiative as a breakthrough in SME digitization: “This is a game changer for small businesses. The ERPRev system replaces manual bookkeeping with one unified platform that simplifies accounting, inventory, HR, and profitability tracking. These are not handouts—they are instruments of transformation.”
According to the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics, SMEs account for 96% of businesses, 80% of employment, and nearly 50% of Nigeria’s GDP. Yet, many continue to operate manually, limiting their efficiency and access to finance. Fidelity Bank’s intervention is therefore timely, enabling digital inclusion and improved business transparency at scale.
Recognised as one of Nigeria’s top banks for SME support, Fidelity Bank Plc serves over 9.1 million customers across digital channels, 255 business offices in Nigeria, and its UK subsidiary, FidBank UK Limited. The bank’s awards include:
