The visit, held at the company’s head office, provided the students with a valuable opportunity to gain first-hand insights into the operations of one of Nigeria’s leading insurance and financial services providers. The interactive session focused on educating the students about ethical standards, professional responsibilities, and the diverse career opportunities available within the insurance industry—an essential step as they begin exploring potential career paths.
Various teams from Mutual Benefits actively participated in the session, each representing key professional disciplines within the organization. They shared their personal career journeys, explained the roles and impact of their departments, and emphasized the skills and values necessary to succeed in the industry.
“This initiative aligns with our mission to not only protect lives and property but also contribute meaningfully to nation-building by mentoring the next generation,” said Ellen Offo, Head of Corporate Communications, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc. “We believe in creating access to knowledge and opportunity, and today’s session reflects that belief.”
The students were highly engaged throughout the program, asking insightful, career-focused questions that reflected curiosity and a strong desire to learn. From inquiries about how actuarial science supports risk management to discussions on marketing in the insurance sector, the dialogue was rich and enlightening.
“It was amazing to see the students so engaged,” noted Kemi Bejide, a member of the Corporate Marketing team. “Their questions were mature and forward-thinking. It gives me great hope for the future of our profession.”
Speaking on the impact of the experience, Ms. Rosemary Anyeaji, a teacher who accompanied the students, expressed heartfelt appreciation: “This was more than a tour—it was an eye-opener. Our students were inspired by the professionalism, warmth, videos, and knowledge shared by the team at Mutual Benefits. They are leaving with a better understanding of the work environment, the opportunities within the insurance sector, and a clearer vision for their future.”
