CMC Connect LLP has unveiled plans for the 2026 edition of its annual Crisis Management Advocacy Month, with this year’s programme focusing on how Artificial Intelligence is reshaping crisis communication and institutional response systems.
The month-long initiative, scheduled for March 2026, is themed “Crisis Management in the AI Milieu: New Threats, Smarter Responses.” It will explore how emerging technologies are transforming reputational risk management, governance frameworks, and crisis preparedness across sectors.
The programme will culminate in a high-level conference on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the Metropolitan Club in Victoria Island, Lagos, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, is expected to deliver the keynote address, while the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris Malagi, will attend as Special Guest of Honour.
Earlier in the month, Emeka Oparah, Vice President, Corporate Communications and CSR at Airtel Africa, will lead a closed-door media workshop designed for senior media executives, focusing on crisis response strategy in an AI-influenced information ecosystem.
Beyond the flagship conference, the 2026 Advocacy Month will feature collaborations with the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) through its Monthly PR Clinics in Lagos and Abuja. Affiong Edet, Senior Corporate Communications Analyst at CMC Connect LLP, is scheduled to deliver thematic presentations aligned with the AI-focused agenda.
The initiative will also partner with the Nigerian Bar Association Section on Legal Practice to examine the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, crisis management, and legal accountability through its weekly webinar series.
Project Coordinator Bright Emmanuel Okon noted that the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence has fundamentally altered the crisis landscape, requiring smarter and more ethical response structures.
According to her, the Advocacy Month is structured to convene cross-sector leaders to interrogate emerging risks and strengthen institutional preparedness in a rapidly evolving digital environment.
Chief Yomi Badejo-Okunsanya, Lead Partner at CMC Connect LLP, added that crises now evolve at unprecedented speed within today’s digital ecosystem, making proactive and intelligent crisis architecture essential for organisational resilience.
