GOVERNOR SOLUDO SETS RECORD STRAIGHT ON NNAMDI KANU’S RELEASE

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has refuted claims suggesting his reluctance to support the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). According to the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the misinformation was propagated by opposition politicians seeking to undermine the governor's transformational achievements in Anambra State.

Governor Soludo has consistently advocated for Kanu's release and initiated an administrative bail process, emphasizing that it could restore peace and stability in the South East. He has also expressed concerns over the hijacking of the Biafra agitation by criminal elements who have exploited it for personal gain through kidnapping, robbery, and other crimes.

To address these security challenges, the governor’s administration is launching “Operation Udo Ga-Achi” (Operation Peace Shall Reign) in January, a proactive effort to combat criminal activities and ensure the safety of Anambra residents.

Governor Soludo's dedication to this cause is not new. In 2017, he led a delegation of Igbo leaders to visit Nnamdi Kanu in Kuje prison, advocating for his unconditional release. His commitment to peace and development in the South East underscores his efforts to separate legitimate agitation from criminal activities threatening the region.

As he continues to exceed expectations in infrastructure and governance, Soludo’s administration is focused on fostering unity and ensuring the region’s long-term stability.
