The Enthronement Assembly Church in Lagos has awarded three personnel of Lagos Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) with an award of excellence in recognition of their selfless service in reducing traffic crashes on the road, National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP reports.
In a press statement e-signed and released to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers, NAOSNP by the Sector Command's Public Education Officer, Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi stated, "The Global Senior Pastor Reverend Deji Olabode in his remarks during the programme said that the church presented the award of excellence to the Corps in Lagos under the Church Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in recognition of the Command's remarkable feat in road crash reduction in the country."
"This is part of our CSR to sustain efforts of FRSC to enhance its performance in crash reductions not only in Lagos but also in the country at large.
FRSC personnel should be motivated in the discharge of their duties of saving lives on the highways."
The Awardees are Superintendent Route Commander Olabisi Sonusi anipr, Marshal Inspector III Ajayi Kehinde O. and Deputy Chief Road Marshal Assistant Ogundele Tayo A.," the senior Pastor said.
The Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye in his appreciation remarks, said most motorists and Road users were in the habit of casting aspersions on law enforcement agencies.
Farinloye said FRSC personnel needed to be celebrated for their dedication and hard work.
" FRSC was saddled with the responsibility of making the highways safe for motorists and other road users as well as checking road worthiness of vehicles.
We minimize accidents on the highways and educate motorists and members of the public on the importance of road discipline on highways," Farinloye said.
According to him, the corps also prevent accidents on the highway by clearing obstructions on any part of the roads.
The sector commander added that FRSC educates drivers, motorists and other members of the public generally on the proper use of the roads.
He appreciated the Global Senior Pastor and members of the congregations for the honour.
Sonusi, while speaking on behalf of other awardees, he thanked the church for recognising and honouring them with an award of excellence.
"We will continue to do our best because to whom much is given, much is expected.
"The award will spur us to do more by ensuring that we do not fail the general motoring public," Sonusi said.
