HOW C’RIVER TOURISM COMMISSIONER, ROBERT EWA DIES HOURS AFTER ATTENDING EXCO MEETING

The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr. Robert Ewa, passed away on Wednesday evening, shortly after attending a State Executive Council (Exco) meeting in Calabar.


According to reports from Channels TV, Ewa died at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in the state capital. Sources revealed that he was actively present at the Exco meeting earlier in the day, which was presided over by Governor Bassey Otu. However, his condition suddenly deteriorated later that evening, leading to his untimely demise.

At the time of filing this report, members of the Cross River State Executive Council and Governor Otu’s aides had gathered at the hospital to mourn with Ewa's family.

Ewa was a prominent political figure in Cross River State. He had previously served as Secretary and Chairman of Boki Local Government Council, Special Adviser on Community Relations, and Secretary of the Anti-Deforestation Task Force before his appointment as Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture.

The state government has yet to issue an official statement regarding his death. The sudden nature of his passing has left many colleagues and residents of the state in shock.
