Workers at the state Ministry of Justice booed Charles Titiloye, the former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Ondo State, on Wednesday, setting off a small-scale drama.
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had earlier in the day dissolved the State Executive Council.
In an internet video, the staff surrounded the commissioner's office hallway while singing songs that were offensive to him.
"Titiloye has locked himself up, he can't step out," was another shout that was heard from them.
The protest lasted while they waited for him to exit the premises after the announcement.
It, however, took the intervention of a team of policemen who arrived at the premises to calm the situation.
The workers who were unbothered by the presence of the security operatives, booed the commissioner as he finally stepped out of his office.
Titiloye, who was guarded by policemen, thereafter entered his vehicle and drove hurriedly out of the premises.
The governor who announced the dissolution in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, also relieved all Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants of their duties, adding that the development would take immediate effect.
The statement read, “All members of the cabinet are to immediately hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most senior administrative officers in their respective offices.
“All the affected officials are directed to hand over all government properties in their possession.
“The governor thanks the affected officials for their services and contributions to the development of the state.”
