In recent times, veteran movie actors/actresses in the Yoruba Movie Industry have been seeking financial help from the general public to meet up with their health challenges and other challenges they face with.
Another Yoruba movie actor, Adewala Alebiosu has revealed the challenges he has faced as an actor in his career, while also bemoaning the lack of help from his colleagues. He made it known in a video that was shared on Instagram that when he was shot and his house got burned, none of his colleagues helped him out and that it was only actor Segun Ogungbe who gave him 40,000 nairas to buy himself new clothes.
He made it known that some people have been criticizing actors for coming out to seek help from the general public, saying that people should stop blaming them for seeking help because their colleagues do not help them whenever they are in trouble. He disclosed that some of their colleagues are rich enough to assist him and other colleagues when they are in need, but that they usually don’t do anything.
In the statement he made in the video, he said, “I was shot and my house got burned; none of my colleagues helped me; only Segun gave me 40k. Some people have been criticizing actors for seeking help from the public, but you can’t blame us because our colleagues don’t help us when we are in need; even the ones that are rich enough to assist us don’t do it, which is not good at all.”
