Ahead of the forthcoming general election, the Coordinator of Akure Division Forum (Political), Prophet (Dr.) Oguntuase Foluso Joshua has said the very time is now, for an Akure South male or female candidate to occupy the 2023 Ondo Central Senatorial District Seat.
According to him, since the beginning of this political dispensation in 1999, Ondo Central Senatorial districts which comprises 6 local government areas and two house of represents. Between 1999 till date Ondo Central has produced 3 senators (Senator Gbenga Ogunniya from Ondo West LG, he served for 12 years, Senator Tayo Alasoadura from Akure North LG, he serve for just a tenure while Senator Ayo Akinyelure from Idanre LG is the incumbent Senator and he is serving his second term. And going by the political history, Akure South should be favoured in the arrangement of who becomes the Ondo Central Senator.
According to him;
*. Akure South votes and roles played by the Akure Division Forum (Political) had opened ornaments of sufficient grace and opportunities for the Akure North to have occupied the position twice.
*. The Akure South votes and the significant roles played by the Akure Division Forum (Political) had similarly given Idanre double opportunities to occupy the Seat.
*. Ondo axis has had its enhanced fairly long period share through the support of the Akure.
*. Only Akure South and Ifedore still aspiring enormously showing and exhibiting the impacts of marginalization, injustice, unfairness and neglect.
*. Prophet Oguntuase believes that since Akure South votes have always provided Support and winning determinants of previous Senators from the Ondo Central Senatorial District, the very time should be now for Akure South to occupy the Seat in 2023.
*. Fantastically of note, Political Parties are better built and the general public is usually attracted during election contests. Oguntuase is therefore encouraging and urging the political parties to produce candidates from Akure South (male and female) from their parties so that the best from among them can emerge through the general election.
