PROMASIDOR LAUNCHES ECO ALERT APP AS PAPER USAGE FALLS BY 30%

... Company highlights resource savings and employee participation at Sustainability Day 2026

Promasidor has launched the Eco Alert App, a new platform designed to enable employees to report sustainability-related concerns and support timely action, as the company reported a 30 per cent reduction in paper usage year-to-date.

The app was unveiled during the company’s Sustainability Day 2026 employee engagement event, providing staff with a dedicated channel to flag issues and contribute to improvements in resource management and workplace sustainability.

The initiative reflects the company’s approach to making sustainability a shared responsibility, encouraging employees to participate directly in identifying challenges and promoting more efficient use of resources.

Speaking at the event, Promasidor’s Chief Technical Officer, Brighton Ochieng, reviewed the company’s sustainability progress and the challenges encountered along the way.

He disclosed that paper usage had declined by 30 per cent year-to-date, while improved water and energy consumption practices had contributed to greater resource efficiency. According to him, the measures had also generated significant savings for the company this year.

The results highlight the potential business benefits of sustainability initiatives, particularly in reducing waste, managing resources more efficiently and lowering operational costs.

Promasidor’s Packaging and Sustainability Manager, Solomon Makanjuola, also spoke on the growing importance of sustainability to the business. He shared insights into emerging trends and encouraged employees to make more conscious decisions in their daily activities.

The event recognised employees whose efforts have contributed to the company’s sustainability objectives. The Heat Factory received special recognition for adopting a paperless process, demonstrating how changes in routine operations can help conserve resources.

Employees also participated in a sustainability quiz designed to test their knowledge and reinforce key lessons from the programme.

The event ended with attendees pledging to adopt sustainable practices beyond the workplace, extending their commitment to their homes and wider communities.

With the Eco Alert App, Promasidor is seeking to strengthen employee involvement in sustainability by providing a practical channel for reporting concerns. Combined with the reported reduction in paper usage and improvements in resource efficiency, the initiative places greater emphasis on translating sustainability goals into everyday workplace practices.
