MUTUAL BENEFITS PROMOTES EMPLOYEE WELLNESS WITH FITNESS, HEALTH INITIATIVE

Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc has reinforced its commitment to employee wellbeing by organising the Retail Aerobic Dance & Wellness Day 2026, an initiative designed to encourage healthy living, preventive healthcare and workplace wellness among members of its retail team.

The programme, held in partnership with Hallmark Health Services Limited (Hallmark HMO), a subsidiary of Consolidated Hallmark Holdings Plc, brought together retail managers from across the company for a day of fitness activities, health education and free medical screenings under the theme "Sweat It Out!"

The event featured an expert-led health talk on cardiovascular health, preventive medical screenings, including blood pressure checks and other vital health assessments, as well as an energetic aerobic dance session aimed at promoting active lifestyles while strengthening teamwork and employee engagement.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Retail Officer of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Alexander Lawal, said the company considers employee wellbeing a critical pillar of its long-term success.

"Our people are our greatest asset. As an organisation committed to providing security and peace of mind to millions of Nigerians, we believe that responsibility begins with caring for our employees. The Retail Aerobic Dance & Wellness Day reflects our commitment to building a workplace where our people are healthy, motivated, resilient and well-equipped to deliver exceptional service to our customers," he said.

Lawal noted that encouraging healthy lifestyles among employees contributes to improved productivity, stronger collaboration and a culture of excellence across the organisation.

Also speaking, the Chief Executive Officer of Hallmark HMO, Dr. (Mrs.) Dotun Adeogun, stressed the importance of preventive healthcare in today's workplace, describing wellness as an essential part of everyday living rather than an occasional activity.

"Many lifestyle-related illnesses, particularly cardiovascular diseases, can be prevented through regular health checks, physical activity and healthier daily habits. We commend Mutual Benefits for prioritising the wellbeing of its workforce and demonstrating leadership in promoting a healthier workplace culture," she said.

The programme concluded with interactive wellness activities, an aerobic fitness session and prize presentations, reinforcing the message that healthier employees are happier, more productive and better positioned to contribute to organisational success.

According to the company, the Retail Aerobic Dance & Wellness Day forms part of Mutual Benefits' broader employee engagement and wellness strategy aimed at fostering a healthy, high-performing workforce while encouraging preventive healthcare and healthier lifestyles.

With more than three decades of operations, Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc continues to provide life and general insurance solutions to individuals, families and businesses across Nigeria, while Hallmark HMO remains one of the country's leading health maintenance organisations, providing quality and affordable healthcare services through an extensive provider network.
