GOV AIYEDATIWA LAUDED AS GENDER-FRIENDLY GOVERNOR OVER INCLUSIVE APPOINTMENTS IN ONDO CIVIL SERVICE


Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has been commended for advancing gender inclusiveness in governance following the recent confirmation and appointment of Permanent Secretaries and key statutory officers in the state civil service.

The commendation was contained in a press statement issued by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Osamaye, who described the development as a significant milestone in promoting gender balance in public administration.

According to the statement, the Governor’s approval of the confirmation of 32 Permanent Secretaries featured a notable representation of women, underscoring his administration’s commitment to equity, fairness, and inclusive leadership.

Dr. Osamaye noted that the appointments have further strengthened public perception of Governor Aiyedatiwa as a gender-friendly leader who prioritises equal opportunities in governance.

She explained that the inclusion of women in strategic leadership positions reflects the Governor’s belief in merit-based appointments while ensuring that women are adequately represented in decision-making processes.

The Commissioner added that the female officers confirmed are seasoned professionals who have demonstrated excellence and dedication in the Ondo State Civil Service over the years.

She described the move as a major boost for women’s participation in governance, aligning with global best practices and Nigeria’s commitment to gender equity in public service.

Dr. Osamaye reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting policies and initiatives that empower women and promote inclusive governance across the state.
