PROMASIDOR MARKS INTERNATIONAL DAY OF EDUCATION, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION AND CHILD NUTRITION

To commemorate this year’s International Day of Education, Promasidor Nigeria, a leading food and beverage company, has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to advancing quality education and improving child nutrition across Nigeria through impactful initiatives.

The company disclosed that it continues to support learning outcomes in schools nationwide by combining access to quality nutrition with education-focused programmes aimed at nurturing young minds. Through initiatives such as the Ikun Milk Day programme, Promasidor has consistently provided dairy products rich in essential nutrients to schoolchildren, reinforcing the vital link between nutrition and academic performance.

Speaking on the significance of the day, Chlief Executive Officer of Promasidor Nigeria, Francois Gillet, emphasised that proper nutrition plays a critical role in helping children reach their full potential.

“Nutrition and education are deeply connected. Children need the right nourishment to learn, grow and thrive. At Promasidor, we believe that access to quality nutrition is fundamental to unlocking educational success and long-term societal development,” Gillet said.

He further explained that Promasidor’s dairy products are fortified with key nutrients such as calcium, essential vitamins and minerals, which support bone development, cognitive function and overall wellbeing.

For nearly a decade, Promasidor has also empowered secondary school students across the country through its flagship career guidance initiative, Harness Your Dream, designed to guide Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3) students at a critical decision-making stage of their academic journey. The programme equips students with practical insights needed to pursue sustainable and fulfilling career paths.

This commitment builds on the company’s over two decades of educational investment through the renowned Cowbellpedia TV Quiz Show, a mathematics-focused competition that has positively shaped learning outcomes for Nigerian students.

In 2025, Cowbellpedia, themed “Mega Minds,” was expanded to include broader subject areas such as Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), reflecting evolving educational priorities. The revamped edition now offers prize packages worth up to ₦100 million, including cash rewards, laptops, learning equipment and educational products. Top winners also received an all-expense-paid educational excursion to South Africa.

These initiatives underscore Promasidor’s mission to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s educational development and demonstrate how private sector participation can strengthen educational standards through strategic collaboration.

Promasidor Nigeria, whose brand portfolio includes Cowbell, Loya Milk, Miksi, Top Tea, Onga Seasoning, Twisco and Kremela, remains committed to connecting with consumers through impactful programmes that promote education, nutrition and sustainable development.
