The organisation’s flagship initiative, Young Girls in School, continues to grow as a grassroots platform dedicated to inspiring confidence, leadership, and creativity among schoolgirls in Nigeria.
As part of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, Event Diary Lifestyle will host the third edition of the Young Girls in School empowerment programme on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Highscope School, Ojodu Abiodun, Ogun State.
The programme, themed “Skill in Her Hands, Confidence in Her Heart,” is designed to equip young girls not only with knowledge but also with practical skills that can help them build confidence and prepare for the future.
Between 150 and 200 secondary school girls from selected schools across Lagos and Ogun States are expected to participate in the programme. Participants will benefit from mentorship sessions, motivational talks, and hands-on skill training aimed at nurturing creativity, self-confidence, and entrepreneurial thinking.
Through initiatives like Young Girls in School, Event Diary Lifestyle continues to create opportunities for girls to explore their potential and discover pathways toward personal and professional growth.
Since its inception, the initiative has reached hundreds of young girls across communities, creating a supportive platform where they can interact with mentors, learn practical skills, and gain the confidence needed to pursue their dreams.
Speaking about the vision behind the initiative, the Founder of Event Diary Lifestyle, Princess Adeola Shittu, emphasised the importance of empowering girls early in life.
According to her, empowering young girls through mentorship, education, and skill development is essential for building stronger communities and nurturing future leaders.
“When young girls are exposed to the right guidance and opportunities, they develop the confidence to believe in themselves and pursue their aspirations,” she said.
The Young Girls in School initiative reflects Event Diary Lifestyle’s broader mission to use media, community engagement, and social impact programmes to inspire positive change and create opportunities for young people.
As preparations continue for the upcoming programme, Event Diary Lifestyle welcomes partnerships and support from organisations, institutions, and individuals who share the vision of empowering the girl child.
Further details about the event, speakers, and partners will be announced in the coming days.
