QUICKTELLER’S INSOMNIAQ DEBUTS IN LAGOS WITH 12-HOUR MUSIC AND CULTURE EXPERIENCE

Quickteller’s maiden edition of InsomniaQ made a bold entry into Lagos’ December entertainment scene as it was successfully hosted at the Grand Ballroom of the Lagos Continental Hotel on December 21, delivering a vibrant 12-hour celebration of African music, culture, creativity, and community.

The high-energy experience attracted a diverse audience of music lovers, culture enthusiasts, creative industry players, and festive diaspora returnees, marking a strong debut for what is already being positioned as a new signature December event in Lagos.

The festival featured a dynamic blend of live performances and DJ sets, showcasing Africa’s rich sonic identity across multiple genres — from soulful melodies to upbeat party rhythms. The event was thoughtfully curated to follow the natural flow of audience energy, sustaining excitement, connection, and movement throughout the night.

Beyond the music, InsomniaQ stood out as a cultural experience, creating a shared space for expression, discovery, and nostalgia, while reinforcing Lagos’ reputation as the heartbeat of Africa’s December entertainment economy and a global hub for lifestyle tourism.

Speaking on the success of the debut edition, Cherry Eromosele, Executive Vice President, Group Marketing and Communications, Interswitch Group, described InsomniaQ as a natural extension of Quickteller’s role in everyday moments of celebration, connection, and culture.

“InsomniaQ was created as a space to celebrate African creativity in its full expression — the music, the energy, and the people who make our culture so powerful. Seeing that vision come to life, with thousands of people connecting through sound, movement, and shared experience, has been truly rewarding,”
Eromosele said.

She added that the festival reinforces Quickteller’s commitment to building platforms that bring people together and spotlight African talent in meaningful ways.

The success of InsomniaQ also reflects the broader philosophy within the Interswitch ecosystem — supporting experiences that move beyond transactions and into real-life cultural touchpoints.

By championing platforms that merge innovation, creativity, lifestyle, and community engagement, Interswitch continues to play a leading role in shaping how people connect, celebrate, and experience Africa’s evolving creative economy.

With its impactful debut, InsomniaQ has set the tone for future editions, firmly positioning itself as a new fixture in Africa’s December calendar — one built on culture, connection, and unforgettable moments.
