The Nigerian film industry has been stunned by the sudden death of Nollywood actress and film producer Allwell Ademola, who has died at the age of 43.
According to industry reports, Ademola collapsed at her Lagos home early Saturday, December 27, 2025 and was rushed by a neighbour to Ancilla Hospital in Agege, where she was pronounced dead on arrival. Unconfirmed sources suggest she suffered a suspected heart attack before being taken to the hospital.
The news of her passing was confirmed by fellow Nollywood star Faithia Williams, who expressed shock and sorrow in an emotional post on social media, writing, “This hit me so bad.” Other colleagues, including Damola Olatunji, have also taken to social platforms to mourn her loss.
Allwell Ademola was a respected figure in the Nigerian film community, known for her work both in front of the camera and behind it as a producer and director. Over her career, she contributed to numerous film projects and played a role in nurturing emerging talents in the industry.
Born on August 9, 1982, she was also recognized for her heritage as a granddaughter of the late Sir Adetokunbo Ademola, a revered former Chief Justice of Nigeria.
Tributes continue to pour in from fans, colleagues, and industry insiders as Nollywood grapples with the unexpected loss. Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced by her family soon.
