SUPER FALCONS TRIUMPH OVER BANYANA BANYANA: A SYMBOL OF NIGERIAN RESILIENCE AND PRIDE – MINISTER IMAAN

The Honourable Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Barr. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has congratulated Nigeria’s Super Falcons on their thrilling 2–1 victory over South Africa’s Banyana Banyana, describing the win as a proud testament to the strength, unity, and resilience of Nigerian women.

In a statement issued by her Special Adviser on Media & Publicity, Mr. Jonathan Eze, the Minister lauded the Super Falcons for their tactical brilliance, unwavering determination, and unbreakable team spirit — attributes she said continue to reflect the indomitable essence of Nigerian women both on and off the field.

“Our Super Falcons soared above the storm with hearts of fire and feet that danced to the rhythm of victory,” Sulaiman-Ibrahim declared.

“This triumph is more than a scoreboard win — it is a symbolic moment that reaffirms the unshakable courage and excellence of Nigerian women.”

The Minister emphasized that the Falcons’ victory transcends sport, serving as a beacon of the rising global prominence and impact of Nigerian women in every arena, especially sports.

“You have made our nation proud. Your victory ignites hope and confidence in the hearts of millions. Carry this momentum forward — the trophy awaits,” she added.

She also reassured the team of the government’s steadfast support, affirming that under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs remains fully committed to empowering and celebrating Nigerian women in sports.

“Soar now, daughters of destiny, toward gold and glory. Nigeria watches, breathes, and believes in you. The crown is yours to seize — go, Champions, go!” the Minister enthused.

The Super Falcons’ latest triumph reinforces their status as the reigning queens of African football and continues to inspire a generation with a narrative of courage, excellence, and national pride.
