Olam Agri, a global leader in food, feed, and fibre, is celebrating 15 years of transformative impact following its acquisition of Crown Flour Mill (CFM)—a milestone that has positioned the company as a trusted name in Nigeria’s wheat milling and pasta industry.
The anniversary celebration, which brought together industry leaders, senior government officials, strategic partners, and staff, was held at The Stable, Surulere, Lagos, on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Founded in 1981, Crown Flour Mill began as a modest milling operation. Since its acquisition in 2010, Olam Agri has significantly expanded its footprint—growing from two manufacturing plants to nine state-of-the-art facilities across Nigeria. Today, the company produces a wide range of high-quality flour, semolina, and pasta products, supported by robust freight infrastructure and global sourcing capabilities.
Olam Agri has also positioned itself as a leader in agricultural and food sector development in Nigeria. Notable achievements include the installation of Nigeria’s first premix facility, implementation of extensive backward integration programs that have empowered over 500 local farmers, and partnerships with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, ICARDA, the Lake Chad Research Institute, and international crop researchers to scale local wheat production.
These strides have earned Olam Agri multiple national and international recognitions, including: National Productivity Order of Merit Award by the Federal Government, FMDQ Gold Award for operational excellence, Food Fortification Award for outstanding commitment to the Micronutrient Fortification Index (MFI) and Employer of Choice Award by the HR People Magazine Awards for fostering a thriving workplace culture.
The anniversary also served as an opportunity to celebrate the organisation’s impact, honour exceptional employees, and appreciate distributors and stakeholders for their contributions over the years.
Femi Areo, a long-time distribution partner, shared his experience: “Partnering with Olam Agri for the past 15 years has brought me immense satisfaction. Their consistent quality, timely delivery, and value-added support have helped me grow my business and improve my livelihood.”
Femi Koya, an employee who joined at the time of the acquisition, reflected on his journey: “Olam Agri gave me a solid career foundation. I’m proud to contribute to national food security and economic growth while supporting my family and advancing my career. Congratulations to all of us.”
In his keynote remarks, Nitin Mehta, Managing Director and Business Head of Olam Agri’s Wheat Milling and Pasta Business, highlighted the organisation’s broader mission: “Our achievements over the last 15 years underscore our alignment with the government’s Renewed Hope Agenda for food security. We are not just running mills—we are building platforms that empower farmers, inspire innovation, and put nutritious food on the tables of millions of Nigerian families.”
Anil Nair, Country Head for Olam Agri, reinforced the company’s long-term vision: “We are unlocking value for our customers, supporting farming communities, and advancing toward a food-secure Nigeria. Our nationwide distribution network, dedication to local production, and 10-year roadmap for drought-resistant seed development show how serious we are about the future of Nigerian agriculture.”
“With a motivated team and unwavering commitment, we are confident in our ability to scale new heights in the next decade.”
