The 2025 Ojude Oba Festival commenced in grand style on Friday evening with the dazzling “Evening with Glo”—a special event organised by digital solutions powerhouse Globacom, featuring Juju music legend Evangelist Ebenezer Obey Fabiyi and Fuji icon Wasiu Ayinde Marshall (KWAM 1).
This year marks a major milestone for Globacom, as the brand celebrates 20 years of dedicated sponsorship of the Ojude Oba Festival—a cultural extravaganza it has helped elevate to international recognition.
Held at the Conference Hall in Ijebu Ode, the “Evening with Glo” thrilled guests with a blend of timeless music, culinary delights, and rib-cracking comedy. The atmosphere was electric as Gbenga Adeyinka, Bash, and Kiekie kept the audience laughing, setting the stage for an unforgettable musical experience. The crowd sang and danced along as Ebenezer Obey delivered more than two hours of his classic, soul-stirring hits.
In its remarks, Globacom described the event as a gesture of gratitude to the Ijebu community, whose unwavering support has contributed to the success of the Ojude Oba Festival for two decades.
“We decided to bring together the great sons and daughters of Ijebuland to celebrate our shared heritage and indulge in the melodious rhythms that resonate deeply throughout Yorubaland,” the company said.
On KWAM 1, Globacom stated: “For decades, the King of Fuji, K1 De Ultimate, has enriched Nigeria’s music landscape with his unique brand of Fuji, which continues to captivate audiences nationwide.”
The event drew a high-profile audience, including Chief (Mrs.) Olukemi Adetona, Olori of the Awujale of Ijebuland; Professor Fassy Yusuff, Coordinator of the Ojude Oba Festival Planning Committee; and Chief (Mrs.) Bisi Osibogun, committee member and Iyalode of Ijebuland.
With this festive curtain-raiser, Globacom once again demonstrated its deep-rooted commitment to culture, tradition, and community, setting the tone for another spectacular edition of the Ojude Oba celebration.
