Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, OON, has called on women professionals across Nigeria to embrace continuous learning, courage, and collaboration as key drivers for achieving long-term career success and overcoming professional challenges.
She made this passionate appeal during a Women’s Roundtable held at the Fidelity SME Hub in Gbagada, Lagos, over the weekend. Themed “Mentorship with Dr. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe,” the event brought together female professionals from diverse sectors and was organized under the Recognition and Networking arm of Fidelity Bank’s HerFidelity Proposition—a flagship initiative designed to empower women entrepreneurs and professionals nationwide.
Speaking at the gathering, Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe highlighted the bank’s commitment to supporting women beyond finance. “In my engagements with women across various industries, I have observed that while talent and ambition are abundant, many women still lack access to capital, skills development, health support, and professional networks,” she noted.
She added, “HerFidelity was launched to bridge that gap through four key pillars: access to capital, capacity building, wellness for work-life balance, and entrepreneurship support. It is one of the initiatives I am most passionate about because when women thrive, communities prosper and economies flourish.”
The mentorship session, which featured a live Q&A segment, allowed participants to connect directly with the bank’s trailblazing CEO, who shared powerful lessons from her career journey.
Offering words of advice to aspiring female leaders, she said: “Believe in yourself, be ready to work hard, and don’t shy away from taking calculated risks. Seek out mentors, nurture meaningful relationships, and, above all, collaborate—because no one truly succeeds alone.”
The event also featured interactive activities, fun competitions, and giveaways—with several attendees winning exciting prizes courtesy of Fidelity Bank.
Dr. Onyeali-Ikpe’s impactful session left participants motivated and reaffirmed Fidelity Bank’s role as a champion of gender empowerment and a key driver of women’s advancement in business and leadership.
