NIGERIA IMMIGRATION SERVICE, ACTING CG PRESENT SUPPORTS PERSONNEL WITH BUSES TO EASE TRANSPORTATION

In response to the increase in transportation costs brought on by the removal of fuel subsidies, Caroline Wura-Ola Adepoju, the acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), has released a fleet of buses to help with the transportation requirements of Officers and Men of the Service.

According to a statement provided to the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) and signed by ACI Kenneth Kure on behalf of the Comptroller General, this initiative is a component of her comprehensive welfare package plans targeted at enhancing the lives of employees.

The Nigeria Immigration Service officers and men received the buses from the acting CGI on Monday at a brief ceremony at the NIS Service Headquarters in Abuja. She recognized the staff members' committed service to the country during her speech and underlined the need to support and enhance their welfare.

According to her, "the availability of these buses is anticipated to ease the financial challenges posed by the recent increase in transport fare and ensure a more comfortable and affordable commuting experience for our staff."

According to the acting CGI, additional buses are already being purchased to service important routes within Abuja. She also pledged to expand this initiative to other State Commands across the nation.

Ag. CGI Adepoju admonished the bus drivers to uphold the highest level of commitment and diligence in their duties while emphasizing the importance of adhering to the speed limit of 60km/h and ensuring the safety and security of the personnel during their travels.

She also called on all officers and men to personally take responsibility for the proper maintenance and care of the provided buses.

“This collective effort will ensure the longevity of the vehicles and enable the NIS to sustain this beneficial initiative in the long term,” she concluded.
