Ondo state Commissioner for women affairs, Dr (Mrs) Princess Dr Juliana Osadaun, Mrs Bamidele Ademola Olateju, information commissioner, Majority Leader Ondo State house of Assembly Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi, top personalities, government officials and stakeholders in the education sector all converge at the International Culture and Event Centre, Dome, Akure on Monday, 4th 2022 for the official book launch and critical stakeholders discussion on "Sex Education for Pre-schoolers and Children" by Miss Akinfiresoye Leah Toluwani.
The book "Sex Education for Pre-schoolers and Children" with the theme: Inclusion of Sex and Moral Education in School Curriculum; An attitude to moral decadence was a critical discussion by the stakeholders in the educational sector of Ondo State as they all share their views on the high rate of immoralities that have eaten deep in the society because many parents had failed in their responsibility to teach and educate their children on sex education.
According to the author, in her address she said; why growing up, she felt the need to take practical steps to address issues that have usually been of grave concern to her. And this lead her to register for the foundation, Child Development and Female Rescue Foundation, (CDFRF) in 2010. And she had been able to use the foundation to advocate, support, impact and mobilized hundreds of young girls in her little capacity.
Ms Akinfiresoye said her vision to write the book was borne out of the increasing cases of abuse on children, particularly the girl child.

She said “It was a Tuesday morning (about 2 years ago), and the vision came to write a book on Sex Education for toddlers shortly after leading a protest against rape in 2020 after the Covid-19 lockdown.

“Many parents find it difficult to talk to their kids about sex because they don’t know what exactly to say or how to start the conversation,” she said.
The United Nations Population Fund, in one of its yearly reports on sex education, said its research showed that the majority of adolescents lack the knowledge required to make decisions responsibly, leaving them vulnerable to coercion, sexually transmitted infections and unintended pregnancy.
The international organisation, however, added sexuality education enables young people to protect and advocate for their health, well-being and divinity by providing them with the necessary knowledge, attitudes and skills.
The event was put together by Leah's World International and Child Development and Female Rescue Foundation.
Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, Chairman ONDO SUBEB was the Chairman of the occasion and he was ably represented. While the majority Leader Ondo State house of Assembly Hon Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi was the chief launcher of the event.
