Drama unfolded in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, as a man identified as Rasaq Olowoyo, popularly known as Olosco, was reportedly arrested for allegedly spraying what has been described as spiritual money at a burial ceremony and subsequently retrieving it.

The incident, according to reports, occurred on November 28, 2025, during the burial celebration of late Pa Omotayo Adeola, the head of the Odogun family, held at the Crown Polytechnic field in Odo town, Ado-Ekiti.

A viral video circulating on social media showed Olowoyo using the money to roll it around the neck of one of the celebrants, Odunayo Arinka. Moments later, he was seen hurriedly collecting the same money and stuffing it into his pockets, a development that sparked outrage among guests and online observers.

Further reports alleged that Olowoyo is a close associate of High Chief Festus Abegunde, who had earlier contested the Odogun of Ado-Ekiti chieftaincy title against Odunayo Arinka and eventually emerged victorious.

The incident has since generated concern among members of the Odogun family and residents of Ado-Ekiti, with many questioning the alleged misuse of cultural practices in personal and chieftaincy-related disputes.

According to reports, Olowoyo was arrested, charged to court, and remanded in prison custody, while investigations into the matter continue.
