TINUBU 2027: DR OSAMAYE ASSURES ONE MILLION VOTE TARGET IN ONDO, APPOINTS DR JUMOKE ABORODE TREASURER

The Chairman of the Women Mobilisation Sub-Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council in Ondo State, Dr Seun Bosede Osamaye, has said the committee is working towards contributing to the party’s one-million-vote target for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election.

Osamaye made this known during a strategic visit by the committee’s leadership to the Director-General of the Ondo State Presidential Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan. The visit focused on women’s participation and grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.

During the meeting, Osamaye announced the appointment of Dr Jumoke Aborode as treasurer of the Women Mobilisation Sub-Committee, expressing confidence in her ability to contribute to its activities.

She said the committee planned to work with women leaders, market associations, professional groups, artisans and grassroots political structures across the state’s 18 local government areas.

According to Osamaye, the mobilisation of more than 500,000 women would contribute to the one-million-vote target earlier announced by Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa for Tinubu’s re-election bid.

She described women as an important constituency in political participation and said the committee would seek to strengthen engagement with women across different professional and socioeconomic backgrounds.

The meeting was attended by the APC State Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde; the state party’s women leader and co-chairman of the sub-committee, Princess Iji Ayeola; and the committee’s secretary, Hon. Adeola Finch, among other party stakeholders.

Olabimtan and Babatunde emphasised the importance of coordination and cooperation among women leaders and party structures at state, local government, ward and unit levels.

The committee leadership also commended Aiyedatiwa and the party leadership for what it described as their support for women’s participation in political leadership and decision-making.

APC Chairman Calls for PVC Collection

In a related development, Babatunde has urged party leaders and members across Ondo State to intensify sensitisation on the collection of Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

He made the call ahead of ward and unit meetings scheduled for Friday, October 23, across the state’s 203 wards.

According to the chairman, the meetings are intended to strengthen grassroots structures, engage party members and encourage eligible voters to collect their PVCs before the applicable deadline.

Babatunde said the party’s one-million-vote target would require planning, coordination and sustained engagement at the grassroots.

He urged ward chairmen, unit leaders, party executives and other stakeholders across the 18 local government areas to make PVC collection sensitisation a priority during the meetings and subsequent engagements.

The chairman said the party would continue to focus on grassroots organisation and participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
