LAGOS POLICE MARK CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK

The Lagos State Police Command has joined Nigerians in commemorating Customer Service Week 2026, using the occasion to reaffirm its commitment to responsive policing and stronger engagement with the public.

The Command, in a statement marking the week’s theme, “Going the Extra Mile,” said the theme represents more than a customer service message, describing it as a commitment to better policing, stronger partnerships and a safer Lagos.

Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support, constructive feedback and willingness to hold the Command accountable.

According to the Command, observations, criticisms and suggestions from members of the public remain important to its efforts to improve service delivery and responsiveness.

“The Command remains committed to listening, learning and serving with humility and integrity,” the statement said.

The police emphasised the importance of public participation in building trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, noting that feedback provides an opportunity to identify areas requiring improvement.

The Command also reiterated its commitment to the principles of service, trust and responsible policing as it marks the 2026 Customer Service Week.

Its message to Lagos residents is captured in four key commitments: going the extra mile, serving with purpose, building trust together, and policing with humility and integrity.

The Command concluded its message with its familiar public-facing assurance: “Police is your friend.”
