JMG Limited has commissioned a hybrid solar power system for La Chaumiere Group, providing the hospitality company with a renewable energy solution designed to reduce its reliance on diesel and lower operating costs.
The project combines 133.12kWp of solar photovoltaic generation, 160kW of hybrid inverter capacity and 163.84kWh of high-voltage lithium battery storage at the group’s facility.
According to JMG, the system is projected to generate about 210.86MWh of clean electricity annually, supplying a significant portion of La Chaumiere Group’s daily energy requirements while providing backup power for its operations.
The installation is also expected to reduce diesel consumption by approximately 57,000 litres annually, which JMG estimates could translate into more than ₦102 million in yearly fuel cost savings. The company also projects that the system will prevent more than 76 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions from being released each year.
La Chaumiere Group operates a portfolio of hospitality and culinary businesses, including fine dining restaurants, Lebanese and Syrian cuisine outlets, specialty coffee destinations and handcrafted popsicle brands.
For businesses operating in the hospitality sector, reliable electricity is particularly important because restaurants and other customer-facing facilities depend on continuous power for refrigeration, lighting, cooling and other daily operations.
The hybrid system was designed following load analysis using Fluke Load Analyzer and PVsyst simulation software. It incorporates LONGi solar modules, Deye hybrid inverters and Deye high-voltage lithium battery storage.
Hussein Abbas, Head of Solar Division at JMG, said the project demonstrates how hybrid energy systems can address both reliability and operating-cost concerns for hospitality businesses.
“Hospitality businesses rely on uninterrupted power to deliver exceptional customer experiences every day. Our partnership with La Chaumiere Group demonstrates how intelligent hybrid energy systems can dramatically reduce operating costs while providing the reliability and sustainability modern businesses require,” he said.
The project adds to the growing use of renewable and hybrid power systems by businesses seeking alternatives to heavy dependence on diesel generators.
For JMG, the La Chaumiere installation also reflects its focus on providing integrated energy solutions that combine solar generation, energy storage and intelligent power management for commercial operations.
As businesses contend with the cost and reliability challenges associated with conventional power generation, projects such as this increasingly position renewable energy not only as a sustainability measure but also as part of a wider strategy for managing operational costs and energy security.
