The Nigerian-South African Chamber of Commerce (NSACC) has held a courtesy visit to the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), with both organisations exploring opportunities for stronger private-sector collaboration.
The NSACC delegation, led by its Chairman, Dr Ije Jidenma, was received by the Director-General of MAN, Mr Segun Ajayi-Kadir, and members of the association’s management team.
Jidenma was accompanied by 10 NSACC members, with the delegation using the meeting to discuss areas of mutual interest and opportunities for both organisations to support a more enabling business environment.
Discussions focused on private-sector advocacy, business networking, investment opportunities, knowledge sharing and initiatives that could strengthen the growth and competitiveness of businesses in Nigeria.
MAN expressed its willingness to work with NSACC on initiatives aimed at supporting the private sector and contributing to programmes that could have a positive impact on businesses and the wider economy.
As part of the proposed areas of engagement, the organisations identified joint business and networking programmes, advocacy on issues affecting businesses, industry-focused knowledge-sharing sessions and opportunities for members of both organisations to connect and explore potential partnerships.
The proposed collaboration could also provide opportunities for businesses within the two networks to exchange ideas, build relationships and identify areas of commercial interest.
The NSACC said the visit marked a step towards strengthening its relationship with MAN and creating more practical opportunities for its members.
The Chamber is expected to maintain engagement with the manufacturers’ body as discussions progress towards specific areas of cooperation.
For both organisations, sustained engagement between private-sector groups remains important in creating platforms through which businesses can share concerns, build partnerships and contribute to conversations around Nigeria’s business environment.
