LAGOS COUNTRY CLUB BUSINESS FORUM TO EXAMINE ENERGY COSTS, BUSINESS SURVIVAL

The Lagos Country Club Business Forum will on Friday, October 30, bring business leaders, energy experts and policymakers together to examine how rising energy costs are affecting business profitability in Nigeria.

The third edition of the forum, scheduled for 4 p.m. at Diamond Jubilee Hall, Lagos Country Club, Ikeja, will focus on the theme, “Energy Costs and Business Survival: Driving Profitability Amid Nigeria’s Power Crisis.”

The forum is expected to provide a platform for discussions on the challenges businesses face in securing reliable and affordable power, as well as strategies for managing energy expenses and sustaining operations in a difficult economic environment.

Former Minister of Power and Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of Geometric Power Limited, Prof. Barth Nnaji, is the keynote speaker, while Dr Benson Uwheru, former Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, will participate as guest speaker.

Other speakers and panellists listed for the forum include Engr. Ifeoma Ukabiala, a senior energy executive with over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas sector; Otunba Francis Meshioye, Executive Director of MJG Limited and former President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria; Biodun Ogunleye, Lagos State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources; Sola Scott, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Alfcom Energy Limited; and Kolapo Joseph, Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Transgrid Enerco Limited.

Their participation brings together perspectives from the energy industry, government, manufacturing and the private sector at a time when power supply and energy expenditure remain major considerations for businesses operating in Nigeria.

For many enterprises, the cost of electricity and alternative power sources affects operating expenses, pricing, productivity and the ability to remain competitive. The forum’s theme places these pressures at the centre of discussions on business resilience and profitability.

The event will hold at Diamond Jubilee Hall, Lagos Country Club, 2 Joel Ogunnaike Street, Ikeja, Lagos.

Interested participants can make enquiries and confirm attendance through Segun on 08033082332 or Folabi on 08055437885.
