| Barrister Akinbuli Ebenezer Gbenga |
A native of Ondo City in Ondo West Local Government Area, Akinbuli’s connection to the wider Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency is also traced to his family history. His late grandfather, Pa Joseph Akinyoyenu Akinbuli, established farming and other investments in Kotajo, Ondo East Local Government Area, helping to sustain the family’s relationship with the community over the years.
Akinbuli studied Law at Lagos State University, Ojo, before proceeding to the Nigerian Law School, Kano Campus. He was called to the Nigerian Bar in December 2010 and has since built experience in legal practice and advocacy, handling matters across different levels of Nigeria’s judicial system.
His transition into politics is driven by his stated belief that representation should remain connected to the people. He argues that the economic difficulties confronting many families require leadership that understands their everyday realities, listens to their concerns and makes their interests a central part of governance.
That philosophy informs his political interest in the Ondo East/Ondo West Federal Constituency under the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Public records have previously identified Akinbuli as the SDP candidate for the constituency in the 2023 House of Representatives election.
At the centre of his stated political vision is participatory representation—one that remains accessible to constituents, responds to their concerns and gives attention to issues affecting their communities.
Beyond his legal and political activities, Akinbuli places emphasis on kindness, selflessness and service to humanity. He has expressed the view that genuine community service does not necessarily require publicity, but should ultimately be measured by its impact on people's lives.
For BGA, public service is therefore presented not simply as an ambition for political office, but as an opportunity to contribute to the development of his community and strengthen the connection between the people and those who represent them.
BGA — Quality Representation. Responsive Leadership. The People First.
