OXYGEN X TAKES CREDIT CAMPAIGN TO TRADERS IN LAGOS MARKETS

Oxygen X Finance Company has taken its “Right Where You Are” campaign to traders and small business owners in Lagos, engaging business operators at CMS and Obalende markets on access to credit and financing options.

The September 18 activation focused on the financial realities faced by traders and small businesses, including the need for working capital, restocking, cash-flow management and funds to expand their operations.

According to Oxygen X, the campaign is designed to bring formal credit closer to people who may find conventional borrowing difficult because of limited banking history or documentation.

Speaking during the activation, Brand Manager of Oxygen X, Emmanuella Awogu, said the company was seeking to reduce barriers that prevent small business operators from accessing formal credit.

“We need to close the gap in access to formal credit,” Awogu said, noting that many neighbourhood businesses and market traders operate viable enterprises despite challenges accessing conventional financing.

She said Oxygen X was using its digital platforms and agent network to make loan services more accessible within communities, allowing customers to explore financing options without necessarily leaving their businesses for extended periods.

Oxygen X, a subsidiary of Access Holdings Plc, provides personal, Small and Medium-sized Enterprise (SME), business and working capital loans to individuals and businesses. Customers can apply through its mobile application or website, while its agent network is being expanded across communities and markets.

The company is also expanding its Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) offering through OxygenNow, allowing customers to purchase products and spread payments over an agreed period. Its BNPL partners include Thermocool, Orca Mall, Konga, Redington and Izifin Technologies.

The CMS and Obalende engagement forms part of the wider “Right Where You Are” campaign, through which Oxygen X is taking its credit-access message directly to communities where Nigerians live, work and trade.

The company said the initiative reflects its broader focus on using digital lending and community-based access points to connect individuals and businesses with financing options.
