Access Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Mr Ifedayo Olaniyi Orimoloye as Executive Director, Risk Management at Access Bank Plc, effective September 21, 2026.
The appointment, which has received the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), brings more than 25 years of experience in risk management across financial institutions in Africa, Europe and the United States to the bank’s executive leadership.
Orimoloye joins Access Bank from the African Development Bank, where he served as Group Chief Risk Officer, overseeing a risk portfolio of more than $40 billion.
During his tenure, he was involved in risk management and governance processes that supported the institution’s continued AAA ratings from Moody’s, S&P Global Ratings and Fitch Ratings.
His professional experience spans enterprise risk management, capital optimisation, credit governance, regulatory compliance, portfolio management and strategic transformation. He has also participated in major capital and securitisation transactions, including initiatives linked to expanding renewable energy access across Africa.
Before his role at the African Development Bank, Orimoloye held senior risk-management positions at Sterling Bank, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated, Wells Fargo, HSBC and Citigroup.
His career across these institutions has included responsibilities in risk transformation, portfolio management, governance and financial risk oversight.
Orimoloye holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Finance and an MBA in Finance from California State University, Hayward.
Commenting on the appointment, Access Holdings Group Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, said Orimoloye’s international experience and strategic leadership would strengthen Access Bank’s risk governance as the institution continues its scale-to-value strategy.
The appointment comes as Access Bank continues to expand its operations and reinforces the group’s stated focus on prudent risk management, strong governance and sustainable stakeholder value.
Orimoloye is expected to bring his experience in managing complex financial risks and institutional transformation to his new role as the bank strengthens its risk-management framework.
