The Ondo State Government is set to bring together female permanent secretaries, heads of government agencies and parastatals, political leaders, elected and appointed female officials, and women-led non-governmental organisations for a one-day capacity-building workshop and retreat.
The programme, organised by the Ondo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, will hold on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at Nibanola Motherland Resort and Golf, along the Ondo-Ore Road, Igabado, Ondo City.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Seun Osamaye, disclosed this in a statement on the programme, saying the gathering was designed to strengthen the capacity of women in leadership and strategic positions while creating an avenue for experience-sharing and collaboration.
According to her, the workshop is themed, “Our Ease: An Appraisal of Unity of Purpose.”
Osamaye said the programme would provide participants with an opportunity to reflect on their collective contributions to the development of women and society, while strengthening partnerships among women across government, political organisations, NGOs and other strategic groups.
She explained that the initiative was part of the ministry’s efforts to ensure that women remained active and influential participants in the development of the state.
The commissioner noted that the programme would go beyond formal capacity building, as it would also provide opportunities for networking, social interaction and recreation among the participants.
She disclosed that the programme would commence with a cocktail dinner on Tuesday, September 8, while participants would engage in mountain hiking and other outdoor activities at the resort on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
Osamaye appreciated the state Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for his commitment to women’s development in Ondo State, while also commending the governor’s wife, Mrs Oluwaseun Aiyedatiwa, for what she described as her motherly roles and support for women-related initiatives.
The commissioner said the gathering was expected to strengthen relationships among women leaders across different sectors and create a platform for greater unity of purpose in advancing the interests of women and the wider society.
The workshop is open to participants through confirmed registration, with attendance restricted to invited and registered participants.
