MUTUAL BENEFITS’ OLUDARE OSHODI JOINS CYFRICA 2026 SPEAKERS IN LAGOS

Group Chief Information Security Officer of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc, Oludare Oshodi, FICDFA, is set to join leading cybersecurity experts at CyFrica 2026, where discussions will focus on strengthening Nigeria's digital security and resilience.

Oshodi is listed among speakers for the third edition of CyFrica, a major cybersecurity conference organised by Tradepass and scheduled for October 8, 2026, at the Eko Convention Center in Lagos.

His participation is expected to bring greater attention to the cybersecurity risks facing Nigeria's insurance industry, particularly the protection of sensitive personal, financial and customer information managed by insurers.

Oshodi, who heads information security at Mutual Benefits Assurance, will join cybersecurity professionals and technology leaders from the banking, telecommunications, government and technology sectors at the conference.

The organisers said the insurance industry deserves greater attention in cybersecurity discussions because insurers hold significant volumes of sensitive customer and financial data.

As insurance companies increasingly rely on digital platforms for customer engagement, payments, claims processing and other services, cybersecurity has become an increasingly important component of business continuity and risk management.

Oshodi's participation therefore provides an opportunity for the insurance sector's cybersecurity challenges to form part of the wider conversation around Nigeria's digital transformation.

The 2026 edition of CyFrica is themed “Securing Nigeria's Digital Vision 2030: Trust, Resilience & Growth.”

The conference is expected to examine some of the major cybersecurity challenges emerging as businesses and public institutions become increasingly dependent on digital infrastructure.

Key areas of discussion are expected to include cloud security, zero-trust architecture, cyber warfare, digital forensics, Internet of Things security and enterprise cybersecurity.

Speakers listed for the event include senior representatives from organisations such as NITDA, the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, EFCC, Dangote, FirstBank Nigeria, GTCO and MTN MoMoPSB.

For the insurance sector, cybersecurity concerns extend beyond protecting corporate systems.

Insurers manage personal information, financial records, policy details, claims information and other sensitive data belonging to individuals and businesses.

A successful cyberattack or data breach could therefore expose customers to financial and privacy risks while also affecting an insurer's reputation and operations.

The increasing adoption of digital insurance services has consequently made information security a strategic issue for insurers rather than simply an information technology concern.

Oshodi's presence at CyFrica 2026 is expected to contribute an industry-specific perspective to discussions about how organisations can strengthen cyber resilience while continuing to expand digital services.

Senior cybersecurity leaders expected in Lagos

CyFrica 2026 will bring together cybersecurity professionals, Chief Information Security Officers, risk and compliance specialists, policymakers, technology providers and other industry stakeholders.

In addition to the main conference sessions, the event is expected to feature an exhibition, awards and a gala evening.

A dedicated CISO Lounge will also provide senior cybersecurity executives with an opportunity to discuss emerging threats, risk management and organisational resilience.

With cybersecurity becoming increasingly central to Nigeria's digital economy, the participation of industry leaders such as Oshodi is expected to deepen conversations around how businesses can protect critical information while building greater trust in digital services.

For Mutual Benefits Assurance, Oshodi's participation also places the insurance industry's cybersecurity priorities within a broader national conversation about digital trust, resilience and sustainable growth.
