Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State is set to host more than 200 women leaders from across the state at a high-level roundtable discussion aimed at reviewing the achievements of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development over the past year and charting a new course for women-focused programmes.

The event, scheduled under the theme, "The O'datiwa Women Initiative Blueprint and Deliverables: Journey So Far... Charting a Better Pathway for Excellence and Transformative Women Programmes," will also feature the official unveiling of the O'datiwa Women Initiative News Bulletin, an annual publication documenting the ministry's activities and achievements.

According to a statement issued by the Ondo State Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr. Seun Bosede Osamaye, the roundtable will provide a strategic platform for policy dialogue, collaboration and knowledge sharing among women leaders across different sectors.

She said the event is designed to strengthen efforts aimed at improving the welfare of women, children, the elderly, persons living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups across the state.

The commissioner disclosed that participants will include elected and appointed female public office holders, leaders of women support groups, female political and religious organisations, women-led non-governmental organisations, heads of female persons with disabilities (PWDs) and vulnerable groups, as well as female heads of schools, government agencies, boards and parastatals.

With the slogan, "One Platform, 200 Women, Impactful Conversations," the gathering is expected to celebrate the progress recorded under the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa while creating opportunities for participants to exchange ideas and develop practical strategies for increasing women's participation in governance and accelerating social development.

A major highlight of the event will be the unveiling of the O'datiwa Women Initiative News Bulletin, which will serve as the official annual publication of the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.

According to the ministry, the publication will document key milestones, programmes and achievements recorded in advancing the welfare and empowerment of women and vulnerable groups. It will also provide a comprehensive directory of agencies and boards under the ministry.

The event will feature interactive panel discussions, networking sessions, cultural dance performances, games and the presentation of gifts to participants.

Dr. Osamaye noted that participation is free, urging interested women to register ahead of the programme.

She added that the initiative reflects the Ondo State Government's commitment to promoting inclusive governance, women's empowerment and sustainable social development through strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement.
