The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists has extended warm Eid-el-Kabir greetings to members of the association, urging journalists to embrace the values of sacrifice, faith, compassion, and unity as Muslims across the world celebrate the festival.
In a goodwill message signed by Chairperson, Jumoke Johnson, and Secretary, Anu M. Thomas, the association described Eid-el-Kabir as a period for reflection, renewed hope, and collective responsibility toward building a peaceful and inclusive society.
According to the statement, the festival remains a reminder of the virtues demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), particularly sacrifice, obedience, and unwavering faith.
NAWOJ Lagos urged women journalists to continue promoting responsible journalism, peace, tolerance, and social cohesion through balanced and ethical storytelling.
“As women journalists committed to truth and responsible storytelling, let us use this season to recommit to peace, tolerance, and collective responsibility in building a Lagos where every voice matters,” the statement read.
The association also prayed for good health, prosperity, and acceptance of sacrifices offered during the celebration, while encouraging members to continue supporting one another within the profession.
