In commemoration of the International Day of Education, Rite Foods Limited, a leading Nigerian food and beverage company, has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to advancing access to quality education and promoting sustainable learning outcomes across communities where it operates.
The company reiterated that education remains a critical driver of national development, social inclusion, and long-term economic growth, noting that its education-focused interventions are delivered through structured Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives targeted at public primary schools in underserved communities.
As part of the 2025 International Day of Education activities, Rite Foods supported pupils in selected schools across Lagos and Ogun States with the distribution of essential learning materials, including school bags and exercise books. The initiative is aimed at easing learning challenges, boosting school attendance, and encouraging academic engagement among young learners.
A key highlight of the programme was its strong sustainability focus. The school bags distributed to pupils were produced from recycled post-consumer packaging waste sourced from Rite Foods’ product portfolio, including Fearless Energy Drinks, Bigi Soft Drinks and Water, and sausage packaging. This innovative approach underscores the company’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of circular economy practices.
Beyond material support, each school engagement featured interactive learning sessions, educational games, and practical demonstrations on recycling and environmental responsibility. These activities were designed to instill early awareness of sustainability, responsible consumption, and environmental protection among pupils.
Speaking on the initiative, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability at Rite Foods, emphasized the company’s education-driven philosophy.
“Education is the foundation upon which sustainable societies are built. At Rite Foods, we remain committed to supporting learning initiatives that not only improve access to education but also inspire responsible citizenship and environmental consciousness,” he said.
Eze added that the company’s approach to education goes beyond donations, focusing on long-term impact.
“Our approach to education is not limited to material support. It is about empowering young minds with the confidence, values, and opportunities they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world.”
As the global community marks the International Day of Education, Rite Foods Limited continues to demonstrate how corporate organisations can meaningfully support education, sustainability, and community development, reinforcing its position as a socially responsible company committed to building a better future for Nigerian children.
