DONNA ADJA CLINCHES THREE WINS AT GBEDU AWARDS 2025, PREPARES “NO FORKS TRAP” VIDEO SHOOT

California-based Nigerian singer, songwriter, and performer Donna Adja has recorded a major career milestone after winning three awards at the Gbedu Awards 2025, further affirming her status as one of the most dynamic and performance-driven female artists in the Afrobeats space.

The Gbedu Awards, organised by MorrisShinehead Ent. Worldwide in partnership with Labour Research and Training Services, and founded by executive producer MC Morris, continue to gain recognition as a credible platform celebrating excellence in music, media, and entertainment across Nigeria and the diaspora. The 2025 edition, held on December 28, 2025, brought together artists, industry professionals, and cultural stakeholders in a vibrant showcase of talent.

Although Donna Adja was unable to attend the main awards ceremony due to prior professional commitments, she was formally presented with her awards on January 10, 2026, at a special welcome and presentation event organised by the awards body in collaboration with UNILAG FM—a move that reinforced the legitimacy and prestige of her wins.

At the Gbedu Awards 2025, Donna Adja emerged victorious in the following categories:

  • Best Stage Act (Female)
  • Most Creative Female Artiste of the Year
  • Nigeria’s Best Female Artiste in the Diaspora

The triple win highlights her commanding stage presence, creative depth, and sustained impact as a Nigerian artist successfully representing Afrobeats on global platforms.

Donna Adja’s musical journey began in church at the age of 15 in Delta State, where she developed strong vocal discipline and stage confidence. By 22, she had fully embraced music as a career, working as a featured vocalist with notable Nigerian acts including Solid Star, Harrysong, Dezign, and others.

A defining phase of her career came with the formation of her 14-piece live band, Daz Entertainment, which served as the in-house band at Sheraton Lagos Hotel. Performing up to five nights weekly over several years, Donna sharpened her endurance, audience engagement, and live delivery. During this period, she performed for two Nigerian presidents and delivered solo performances across the United Kingdom, Dubai, and Australia, credentials that strongly support her Best Stage Act (Female) recognition.

Beyond live performances, Donna Adja has continued to evolve creatively. Songs such as “Shut Up” and “Gaga” enjoyed strong radio rotation in Nigeria, while “I Like Your Body” surpassed one million views on YouTube, extending her reach to international audiences.

Now professionally managed by Arems Entertainment, which oversees her bookings, engagements, and industry relations, Donna has entered a more structured phase of her career. This strategic positioning and artistic evolution earned her the Most Creative Female Artiste of the Year award.

Relocating to the United States has expanded, rather than diluted, Donna Adja’s artistic identity. Blending Afrobeats, Afropop, R&B, and soul, her sound reflects both her Nigerian roots and global influences. This balance has positioned her as a visible ambassador of Nigerian music abroad, culminating in her win as Nigeria’s Best Female Artiste in the Diaspora.

Fresh off her triple win, Donna Adja is set to sustain momentum with plans to shoot the official music video for her trending single “No Forks Trap” next week. The record, part of her ongoing No Forks creative run, captures her bold confidence, street energy, and performance intensity—hallmarks of her brand.

With a growing catalogue, renewed industry structure, and a strong visual rollout strategy, Donna Adja’s sweep at the Gbedu Awards 2025 marks more than a celebratory moment. It signals the rise of an artist stepping decisively into a more focused, visible, and impactful chapter of her career.
