The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) has reinforced its reputation as Nigeria’s leading public sector revenue institution after securing major honours at the 2025 Peak Performer Awards held on Tuesday, November 18, at the Lagos Oriental Hotel.
In a night that celebrated excellence, innovation, and transformative leadership, the Executive Chairman of LIRS, Mr. Ayodele Subair, was named “Board Chair of the Year”, a recognition of his exceptional stewardship, reform-driven leadership, and commitment to elevating revenue administration in Lagos State.
Subair, who also graced the cover of the 2025 edition of The Peak Performer Magazine, was honoured for championing digital transformation, deploying technology-backed tax systems, and strengthening compliance structures that have positioned LIRS as a national model in effective tax administration.
Under his leadership, LIRS has implemented groundbreaking reforms, improved service delivery, and expanded the state’s revenue base through innovation, transparency, and accountability.
Alongside Subair’s personal recognition, LIRS clinched the award for “Peak Performing Revenue Agency of the Year”, further solidifying the agency’s status as a benchmark for modern revenue practices in Nigeria.

Speaking after receiving his award, Subair expressed profound gratitude, noting that the honour reflects the collective efforts of the entire LIRS workforce.
