In a bold move to safeguard patient lives and strengthen healthcare delivery in Lagos State, JMG Limited, a leading provider of integrated electromechanical solutions, has installed and commissioned a solar-powered energy system at the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre, Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area.
The commissioning ceremony, held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at the facility, attracted top government officials, traditional rulers, and community stakeholders, including representatives from the Lagos State Ministries of Environment and Health.
The new solar installation, which includes a 10-kilowatt hybrid inverter, 18 N-Type solar panels, and a 20.48 KWH lithium battery, is designed to guarantee uninterrupted power supply for critical healthcare operations such as emergency surgeries, maternity care, laboratory diagnostics, and immunisation storage.
Speaking at the event, Group General Manager of JMG, Mr. Rabih Jammal, said the initiative underscores the company’s belief that access to energy is a human right and a vital component of quality healthcare.
“Reliable power is not a privilege — it’s a right,” Jammal stated. “Energy access is essential to life, healthcare, and human progress. This project, just like the one we did in Bariga last year, reaffirms JMG’s commitment to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Nigeria.”
He added that the donation forms part of JMG’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) drive to use renewable energy as a tool for community development.
President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) and Executive Director at JMG, Otunba Francis Meshioye, OFR, also highlighted that supporting community healthcare aligns with the company’s goal of giving back to society through impactful and sustainable projects.
“When we invest in healthcare, we invest in life. Reliable energy means no disruption during surgeries, no power failure during childbirth, and better service delivery for our people,” he said.
The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, Dr. Dayo Lajide, commended JMG for its intervention, urging other corporate bodies to emulate the company’s gesture in line with the Lagos State Government’s agenda to strengthen healthcare infrastructure.
Similarly, the Director of Sanitation Services, Lagos State Ministry of Environment, Dr. Hassan Sanuth, praised the initiative as a double victory for both health and the environment, noting that renewable energy contributes to climate change mitigation.
The Medical Director of the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre, Dr. Mariam Oshodi, expressed deep gratitude, stating that the facility’s services had often been disrupted by power outages before the solar installation.
“This solar system is a lifesaver. It means constant power for deliveries, lab tests, and vaccines. Our staff can now focus on saving lives without worrying about blackouts,” she said.
The Executive Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Adetola Abubakar, also commended JMG for the partnership, describing it as a practical example of how private sector collaboration can boost local governance efforts.
The Ketu project follows JMG’s similar solar power donation to Bariga Primary Health Centre in 2024, reinforcing the company’s long-term strategy of promoting renewable energy adoption across critical public institutions.
For JMG, this project is more than a CSR initiative — it’s a life-saving intervention proving that sustainable energy can drive progress, improve healthcare outcomes, and give light where it matters most.
