The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Thursday hosted the management team of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency (LASPARK), led by its General Manager, Mrs. Adetoun Popoola, at the Ikeja House as both parties renewed commitments to a cleaner and greener capital city.
During the courtesy visit, Popoola highlighted LASPARK’s mandate, stressing the Agency’s renewed drive to expand green infrastructure, maintain public parks and gardens, and promote massive tree planting across Lagos.
She disclosed LASPARK’s target to plant 25,000 trees before July 14, 2026, adding that Ikeja holds special significance for her.
“Ikeja is home for me. We are ready to ensure the capital city leads in environmental beautification and green development,” she said.
Chairman AKOD, while welcoming the team, commended LASPARK’s efforts and affirmed that its vision aligns with the environmental component of his administration’s I.K.E.J.A Agenda.
He pledged that the council would fully support all initiatives that enhance sustainability, beautification, and livability within the community.
Also present at the meeting were the Vice Chairman, Hon. Abisola Omisore; the Head of Environment Department; and the Chief of Staff to the Chairman, Chief Adeyi Adeniyi.
