In a commendable show of corporate responsibility and community engagement, Fidelity Bank Plc has reaffirmed its dedication to advancing quality education with the donation of school bags and educational materials to students of Eko Boys Junior High School, Mushin, Lagos State.

The initiative was executed under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP) — the bank’s staff-led Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform through which employees identify community needs and are supported by the bank with matching funds to drive sustainable community impact.

Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, emphasized the central role of education in nation-building.

“Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and shaping the future of our nation. At Fidelity Bank, we believe our role goes beyond providing financial services — it extends to investing in the growth and wellbeing of the communities we serve,” said Dr. Nwagboh.

“Through our CSR pillars and the FHHP, we are committed to creating real social impact. By supporting these young students today, we are equipping the next generation with confidence, hope, and the tools they need to thrive.”

The donation, facilitated by the Team Eminence Inductees Class of 2025, was warmly received by the school management, staff, and students.

In his remarks, the Principal of Eko Boys Junior High School, Mr. Falola Gabriel, lauded Fidelity Bank’s intervention and appealed for further collaboration in enhancing the school’s infrastructure.

“We sincerely thank Fidelity Bank for this generous gesture. The school bags will go a long way in supporting our students, but we also appeal for continued assistance in other critical areas like computers, fans, and classroom furniture to create a more conducive learning environment,” he said.

Also speaking, the Vice Principal, Mrs. Kasunmu Mercy, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff and parents, noting that the donation would ease financial pressure on families and help students stay organized and motivated.

One of the student beneficiaries, Ojomo David, voiced his excitement and appreciation, describing the gesture as a reflection of Fidelity Bank’s genuine concern for students’ education and wellbeing.
